Gastrointestinal and Colorectal Cancer Awareness Camp

The Colorectal Cancer Research Foundation organized its first camp on 15 th January 2012 on “Gastrointestinal and Colorectal Cancer Awareness Camp ”. The camp started at 9:00 am and continued till 2:30 pm. It was a very well attended camp. A total of 31 patients attended the camp. It included a mix of young to old patients from all strata of the society. It also attracted a lot of patients from far of places like Roorkee, Patiala, Faridadad, and Noida in addition to various areas of Delhi. Polypoidal Malignant Lesion in the Colon

Patient was 65 years old. Had bleeding per rectum. Investigated and found to have this lesion in distal part of the colon. The part of the colon was resected.

Malignant Ulcer in the large Intestine – Colorectal Cancer

A 56 year old patient presented with colorectal cancer – operated with resection and anastomosis of the involved colon. The tumour was completely excised and the ends joined. No colostomy was required.

First ever camp for creating awareness about gastrointestinal and colorectal cancer

Colorectal cancer foundation is planning to have a camp for increasing awareness about gastrointestinal and colorectal cancer in general public. This will be held on 15 th January 2012 at the Apollo clinic East of Kailash, New Delhi. From 9 -1 pm. The patients will have the following facilities provided at the camp free of cost: 1. Membership of the foundation if desired ? wether to charge or not 2. Clinical history and examination 3. CBC and stool for faecal occult blood test for all 4. CEA and us whole abdomen for selected patients 5
